the guys doing the Haka. okay, there performance was better than ours...

This is Slim... yes, i dont know why either.

at Slim's cultural night in Rotorua. I am learning a Poi dance to the tune of "my girl"

first of all i think i am so brown i have chgned nationalities, secondly, i am a cat, thirdly i am a cat because i smeared waitomo cave mud on my face. (it is supposed to be good for your skin...)

Tumu tumu toobing in waitomo caves. (it's like a tounge twister...) heaps of fun! i even got to lead teh group throught the caves for a bit... oh and i started the group song of lean on me while we all floated down cave rivers linked together and looking up at millions of glow worms. aww how romantic.

raglan locals. Sam (in the orange) who i met through one of the surf instructers and he gave me a free lesson the following day...then Tom in the middle who works at the surf school and is barrels of laughs. last is emma who works at the logde where i stayed.

Here is my new stray bus... i eventually had to leve raglan and continue on my trip. can you find my blonde head?

Here some people are doing a maori dance at the hostel.... i got to enjoy my very first hungi (pronouned: hung-ee) oh so good.

the ladies and I hanging round the lodge in raglan.

One of my all-time fave fotos. here is how this happened.... i was taking a photo of the planbt thingys and then my camera jammed (it's film) so i took another photo. what ended up was some double exposure action and it looks freakin cool. :)

RAGLAN! such a fun surfers town... here is where i learned to surf... thanks to my lesson/board/wetsuit from sam mathers. woot!

At hot water beach in Hahei (ont eh coromandel peninsula). here you are supposed to be able to dig a hope and lie in the hot water beneath the sand. All we were able to do was mush our feet in and feel the hot water burning our toes.

after the sun rose

here i am in the morning sunrise hours all bundled up.

The morning we left hahei i got up REALLY early and watched the sunrise... twas a beauty.

more sunrise

the gorgeous sunny day i was supposed to have on the coromandel peninsula so taht i could enjoy some sea kayaking. instead, it poured rain and i didnt go. (these are some other stray traveller's photos whose bus i joined later.)

somehwere between auckland and hahei. (i have now started my stray tour around the north island...)

how cool would that have been?
